Our client, one of the nation’s premier and most established law firms exclusively dedicated to representing management in labor and employment matters, is expanding its fully remote team with ten new experienced Employment Counsel positions.

About the Role

In this pivotal defense-side counsel role, you will:

  • Take charge of managing administrative agency charges (EEOC, DFEH, etc.), drafting responses to demand letters, and overseeing employment litigation for a wide variety of sophisticated clients including matters involving Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI).
  • Collaborate directly with accomplished partners and legal teams to deliver impactful, strategic legal solutions.
  • Focus on high-quality written advocacy and litigation management without the need for in-person depositions, hearings, or trial appearances, allowing you to work seamlessly and flexibly from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and respond to administrative agency claims and demand letters.
  • Handle employment litigation in both federal and state courts.
  • Develop defense strategies, draft legal documents, and advise clients on case assessments and risk management.
  • Ensure EPLI compliance and requirements are met across assigned caseloads.
  • Stay current with employment law trends and effectively communicate risk and guidance to clients and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in employment law and litigation, ideally with a defense-side/management focus.
  • Proven success handling administrative agency matters (such as EEOC/DFEH) and civil litigation in federal and state courts.
  • Prior practice in a law firm environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with EPLI cases; direct experience is a plus.
  • License to practice and in good standing in CA, AZ, or WA highly desired; open to candidates nationwide who are eligible to practice law through bar admission.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
  • Strong academic credentials and a stable employment record reflecting depth in management-side labor and employment work.
